Safwan Shah
Founder and CEO

Safwan is the founder and CEO of Payactiv, a Public Benefit Corporation and Certified B Corp. Prior to Payactiv, Safwan founded Infonox, which was acquired by TSYS (now Global Payments). An innovator with a mission, purpose, and real results, Safwan’s book, It’s About TIME, calls for businesses to embrace the mantle of saving the world and has been published by Conscious Capitalism Press. In 2019, Safwan received the George Norlin Award, the highest alumni honor for his devotion towards the betterment of society from CU Boulder, where he got his Ph.D. in aerospace engineering and worked for Bioserve Space Technologies, a NASA center for commercialization of space. Safwan has taught at the Haas School of Business, Berkeley, and Baskin School of Engineering in Santa Cruz, and is a graduate of the Stanford Executive Program. In 2020, Safwan became a board member of Conscious Capitalism.

Sohail directs technology, product development, and information security for PayActiv financial ecosystem. Holding multiple graduate degrees in Computer Science, Sohail’s professional achievements include developing both the world’s first biometric ATM, and the world’s fastest medical image delivery system. He is an accomplished entrepreneur, having launched multiple start-ups. With over 18 years’ experience taking projects from concept to market for Microsoft, Philips Healthcare, and Infonox (TSYS), he has demonstrated his expertise in payments, financial services, and healthcare. Sohail is a technologist by trade, but is equally recognized for his business and organizational development, and partnership building.

Ijaz Anwar has dedicated his tenure at Payactiv to help millions of workers who struggle and live paycheck to paycheck. As PayActiv’s co-founder and COO, Ijaz seeks to solve the livelihood challenges of workers by helping them save money and live better. He plays an instrumental role in creating and supporting solutions that retain, engage, and impact the daily lives of its users. Recognized nationally for its originality and impact, thousands of businesses, including Walmart, offer the PayActiv livelihood platform as a financial wellness benefit. When not doing impactful work, Ijaz enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 sets of twins, who keep him grounded in the knowledge that he is not the COO of his household.

Sridhar Ande

Sridhar Ande
Chief Financial Officer

Sridhar joined Payactiv in June 2021 as chief financial officer. In this role, he oversees the company’s financial strategies, planning, treasury, accounting, tax and investor relations as well as partners closely with CEO to raise capital and pursue opportunities to ensure the success of PayActiv as it scales. Sridhar joined Payactiv from Visa where he held finance leadership roles. In his most recent role as VP of corporate FP&A at Visa, he was responsible for annual budgeting, forecasting, reporting, setting operating goals for regions and business units and providing guidance to the buy/sell side. He worked very closely with Visa’s CFO, CEO and President in this role. Prior to Visa, Sridhar held several finance roles at HSBC (credit cards). Sridhar started his career as a programmer at Tata Consultancy Services and later supported the sales team to win several deals in India and Belgium. Sridhar holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Osmania University and an MBA from Indiana University.

Tami Kilpatrick
SVP, Sales & Client Services

Tami’s experience in senior leadership at some of the most prominent financial service organizations like GMAC ResCap to Chase Bank, together with her experience with employee benefit companies Mercer and ADP drives her passion for FinTech. As Vice President of Growth for Payactiv, Tami is motivated by the advancement in technology and innovation in how earned wages are accessed, and how that dramatically improves the value of an employer’s offering as well as quality of life for workers. Her dedicated professionalism and acute business savvy has fostered countless happy relationships due in part to her vivacious entrepreneurial spirit. She sees her greatest achievements because of exercising fairness, living by the eternal golden rule, to treat others the way you would like to be treated. Regardless of an individual’s particular role, Tami finds joy in helping others thrive, encouraging her team’s development with a supportive yet effective approach.

Candice Shih
SVP Legal

Candice runs the day-to-day operations of Payactiv’s legal department and oversees all aspects of the company’s legal affairs. Prior to joining Payactiv, Candice was an attorney in the San Francisco office of Hanson Bridgett LLP, specializing in civil litigation and insurance recovery, and was chair of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee. Candice is proud to work for a B Corp dedicated to improving the lives of people around the country.

Michael Gregorio
VP Mobile App

Michael is the VP, Mobile App responsible for the design, development, and successful launch of the next generation Payactiv App. He is an accomplished engineering professional with over 18 years of strategic and operational leadership in product, marketing, sales, and information technology. Experience includes working with both onshore and offshore teams in corporate environments as well as successfully co-founding several startups to acquisition. Michael is a seasoned presenter and effective communicator able to explain complex concepts and ideas to non-technical individuals. Michael is passionate about empowering employees to be fully engaged in their work and lives, with the goal of financial freedom. His philosophy is to put the ‘human’ back into Human Capital Management and see the world through the eyes of the underserved.

Janet first became interested in Payactiv when she helped rollout the Payactiv program to her managers and associates at Towne Park. She is now pleased and proud to be the HR Director at Payactiv, a Public Benefit company. Janet spent her early years in the restaurant business as a manager. After participating in several successful restaurant openings, Janet realized that she was most passionate about hiring, training, and developing new team members. Her greatest joy was to provide new team members with proper training and mentor them to become successful in the organization. She transitioned into Human Resources over twenty years ago and has dedicated herself to helping companies grow, by helping their people succeed. She believes that the Human Resource department is the heart and soul of every company and the keeper of the culture.

Peter heads marketing at Payactiv. He’s metrics-driven marketing executive with more than two decades of experience launching, transforming and scaling enterprise companies in CX, telco, SaaS, edtech and entertainment markets. Ex-Netflix, Comcast, Gartner, startups, Peter has successfully launched multiple categories and products, personally contributing $7B+ market cap with 1 IPO, 3 acquisitions and multiple funding rounds. Passionate about building team-first corporate culture and delivering amazing customer experiences. 

Peter is also a best-selling sports book author, journalist with +250 bylines, winner of 2 PRSA Silver Anvils and winner of Comcast’s Circle of Innovation Award.
