Payactiv Adds Kansas To Growing List of State Registrations
Following the passage of the Kansas Earned Wage Access Services Act in the 2024 state legislative session, Payactiv is now registered as an earned wage access (EWA) services provider in Kansas through the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System and Registry. Governor Laura Kelly (D) signed the bill into law in April 2024, and it was effective July 1, 2024 with the license application being released late last year.
In creating this new law, policymakers recognize EWA as an innovative financial product requiring its own oversight system. As a part of Kansas’s registration process, EWA providers must uphold a number of important consumer protections. Payactiv already provides these protections for workers in its app, and no changes are required for Payactiv’s product, employer partners, or payroll providers.
