Giving Thanks…To You

Thanksgiving’s origins are well-known, yet it’s easy to forget what the annual tradition is intended to celebrate.  Thanksgiving is about the autumn harvest, in which mature crops are gathered so that communities can be sustained with food. 

The community offers its thanks for this harvest, yet the most obvious recipients of this gratitude is often forgotten: the community itself! There is no harvest without a community to plant, maintain, and gather the crops. 

For Payactiv, our users are the community, so we want to thank each and every one of you.

We want to thank you for the opportunity to serve you. Serving our community is what gives us sustenance. Back in April, our newsletter contained this phrase: “Our hearts beat for those we serve”. It was true then, it is true now, and it will always remain true.

There was something else we wrote back in April.

This month, we turn this phrase around to you, our community.  You are the ones who define us, inspire us, and complete us. We are human when alone and we are community when we serve you. Our values when combined don’t diminish, they amplify.

We are not stopping here. In the new year, you will see a new look to Payactiv, and an expansion of our mission of service. At Payactiv, we talk in broad terms using the words “financial wellness”. That can be an abstract term that has more meaning for your benefits manager than for you. 

We want to go beyond “financial wellness”. 

We want to go beyond bringing security, dignity, and savings to our users.  We want to help you to live the life you earn. We want to help you through the obstacle courses that life can sometimes place in front of you. You helped create the economy, so we want to help you fully participate in it.  We cannot predict what life has in store each week, but we can help you navigate it.

Our Thanksgiving harvest is represented by our purpose. Purpose is what gives us sustenance. Seeing how our users lives have changed for the better is what fulfills us, inspires us, and pushes us to be the best we can be so that we can be the best for you.
