This award strengthens our resolve and reaffirms our mission to serve the needs of the +80 million U.S. workers toiling in lower-wage jobs. 

These are our people. They earn a median salary of $10.22. They work behind the counters at fast-food restaurants. They deliver our packages to our doorsteps and take care of our elderly parents in senior-care facilities. 

When we do things right, and fortunately we often do, we’re empowering them to more fully participate in the economy they helped to create.

Serving the Underserved through Innovation
More than 1,500 businesses partner with Payactiv to provide their lower-income workers on-demand access to their earned wages and financial wellness services. Lively, our Payactiv app, combines access to wages with a digital wallet, saving and budgeting tools, an exclusive discount marketplace and a deskless employee communication platform all in one place. 

How We Faced the Challenges of Covid
The blur of 2020-2021 was filled with challenges of the worldwide pandemic. It hit the hourly workers hardest. Payactiv responded by waiving user fees during the toughest periods and providing instant, no-questions-asked access of $100 to $200 to anyone who needed it.

Through our nonprofit ACCESS Foundation, we partnered with the New York City government to provide earnings to NYC taxi drivers who delivered emergency food and medical supplies across the city. More than $27 million was delivered to these drivers – for many it was their only source of income for months. For this program, Payactiv won the 2021 “Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year” from the American Business Awards.

We also partnered with the payroll processor Paychex and the human-capital management service company OnShift to provide financial relief to more than 175,000 post-acute care and senior living employees. For these combined efforts, in July 2021 Payactiv won “Best For The World™” B Corp for Excellence Beyond Profit, ranking us in the top 5% globally of all Benefit Corporations.
